Centre for Baltic and East European Studies
The Centre for Baltic and East European Studies, CBEES, was founded in 2005 to coordinate research and doctoral studies at Södertörn University (Södertörns högskola) focusing on the Baltic Sea Region and Eastern Europe.
The aim of CBEES is to extend the Baltic Sea Region and East European profile of Södertörn University while fostering a multidisciplinary approach.
CBEES is home to the Baltic and East European Graduate School (BEEGS), the German Studies Research Unit, as well as several other projects and programs.
A large number of research projects at Södertörn University are financed by the Baltic Sea Foundation and focus on the Baltic Sea and East European regions. These projects are coordinated by CBEES. Some of these research projects are staffed solely by CBEES members; the majority, however, are staffed by scholars working in Södertörn’s various academic schools.
CBEES arranges post-graduate seminars, courses and conferences, and hosts visiting researchers. Information about activities, meetings, social activities, and other important events is published electronically in CBEES Newsletter and on the Internet.
Public events are also advertised at Södertörn University’s website, as well as on the CBEES website: www.sh.se/cbees.
To find reports from CBEES’ events and conferences on Baltic Worlds web page, please use the tag: cbees.
